Case Study - Keepmoat Ltd / Frank Haslam Milan


Background


Championing Diversity was a West Yorkshire wide programme offered to employers to help them develop their management of diversity. This included an assessment of the company’s progress to date and extensive help over 18 months to move them in the direction they wanted to be in the future.


The Organisation


Shaping the companies into ‘Champions of Diversity’ in their
industry, the programme worked with Susanne Spear, Brand HR
Manager at Frank Haslam Milan to develop their approach to
diversity.

Frank Haslam Milan is part of the Keepmoat Group - the awardwinning
leader in the delivery of community regeneration, which is providing thousands of new and improved homes across a huge swathe of northern and central England. Working in partnership, FHM provides new and improved homes as part of a comprehensive and flexible package of housing support services to help build strong, dynamic and sustainable
communities.

What did we do?

 

• Published the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Strategy

Carried out training and awareness sessions for Managing Directors

• Identified Director level champions



What did we learn?


  • We have had to rethink how we structure and lead EOD across the company

  • We need to introduce Diversity Champions

  • We recognize that it must be lead from the top

  • We also need to ensure that we look at the supply chain as well as us as employers
